The Mieczysław Weinberg Universe is an interactive portal that invites you to follow in the composer’s footsteps and explore his world for yourself: its cities, countries, places and people. It tells the story of both Weinberg’s life and his legacy – the continuing presence of his music today and the people and places involved in its rediscovery, research and performance.

At the heart of the Universe is an interactive map connecting biographical stories, archival materials, music and texts created in collaboration with an international group of scholars and artists, as well as members of the composer’s family. And, as befits a universe, the project remains open-ended – it will continue to expand with new places, stories and discoveries.

The project was made possible by a grant from Poland’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
